Potrero Hill rises above the industrial flats to the east, its wood-frame Victorian cottages and later infill homes climbing a hillside that offers some of the best bay views in the city. Potrero Hill is another of San Francisco's sunnier microclimates — high enough and far enough from the ocean to sit above much of the fog that blankets the west side, which makes it a genuinely good neighborhood for sun-loving plantings and productive garden beds.
